A Tour of Amish Country

Step back in time, and experience life as it once was for America’s earliest settlers. Tours of Amish Country are offered by two companies:  Bluffscape Amish Tours, and Amish Backroads Tour. Bluffscape Amish Tours will take you on a tour to the largest Amish community in America, located around the communities of Lanesboro, Preston, Canton, and Harmony. Tours take approximately 3 hours. Guests will, of course, stop in at Amish Farms and shops to purchase goods. But they will also learn all about the Amish lifestyle. These tours are offered daily on Monday – Saturday between April 11, 2019, and November 2, 2019.  Reservations are definitely recommended, and the tour costs $30 per adult. This is your best chance to purchase Amish-made Visit Amish Country Near Lanesboro, Minnesotacrafts, baskets, quilts, leather goods, hardwood furniture, canned and baked items, candy, candles, soaps, and fresh garden produce, and sweet, buttery cashew crunch–a local delicacy.

The Amish Backroads Tours are narrated audio tours that will guide you to the best Amish farms, shops, and points of interest.  It’s perfect if you’d rather explore Amish country at your own pace. The total driving time for the tour is approximately 90 minutes, but the total time spent depends on how long you stay at each place. There are approximately 10 stops included in this tour. Most Amish shops and farms are open Monday – Saturday throughout the year, giving you plenty of flexibility in timing this tour.
