Downtown Lanesboro is a place best seen and explored for yourself. Words can only do it so much justice. This November, there are two great weekends to experience the magic of Lanesboro for the holidays: November 23rd and November 30. Throughout both weekends, the town will be decked out in festive decorations and will be a great time to go shopping and enjoy the arts.On November 23, 2019, join us in downtown Lanesboro as we kick off the holiday season with a Norwegian bake sale. Granny's Liquor will also be hosting a demonstration of our favorite Norwegian staple, Lefse. You can even make your own charm necklace at the Peddler, or stop by Home Sweet Home’s Sweet Shop for s'more kits, a hot cocoa bar, and cookie decorating! Other festivities for the day include Santa arriving in town via firetruck, a scavenger hunt, a food, hat, and mitten drive, live music, and plenty of holiday merriment.The following weekend on November 30, 2019, join us in downtown Lanesboro for even more holiday fun. We kick off the official holiday shopping season with Small Business Saturday; the perfect time to support your favorite boutique in downtown Lanesboro! Many shops will have unique offers and specials for this event. For example, Granny's Liquor is hosting a "Man Cave," with events fit for the man in your life, while The High Court Pub is featuring chocolate, wine, and beer pairings all day. At 5:30 pm, Lanesboro's annual tree lighting will take place, bringing a festive atmosphere for the remainder of the season.
In the evening on both weekends, end your day at Lanesboro's Commonweal Theater for their holiday musical, Sanders Family Christmas. The show starts at 7:30 pm, and as always, guests at the Habberstad House Bed and Breakfast will enjoy discounted tickets. Tickets for this incredible event are just $25 when purchased in advance ($30 at the door). Not only is this a beautiful celebration of our small-town holiday, but a portion of the proceeds for this event go towards supporting mental health awareness and suicide prevention through the Brain and Behavioral Research Foundation.In addition to touring these beautiful Inns, fully decked out for the holidays, this year's event will feature an artisan's market. It's the perfect place to find that one-of-a-kind gift you're looking for.
